Our project

“A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people to whom it is easy to do good, and who are not accustomed to have it done to them; then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one’s neighbour — such is my idea of happiness.” Lev Tolstoj.

The Yogam Farm is based in Melazzo (Piedmont / North West Italy), a small village surrounded by hills and woods, at just 5 km from Acqui Terme. A beautiful cottage, built at the beginning of the twentieth century and restored with love, can host singles, couples, families and small groups up to 6 people.

The following pillars represent our idea of hospitality:

Eco-tourism: it means respect, travel slowly, enjoy the essentials without deprive the comfort. We would like the tourists who visit our lands could enjoy moments of peace and quiet, and find the right time to take delight of the magnificent culture of this area.

Sustainability at 360 °: waste reduction (electricity, water, garbage, heating, …), disclosure of ‘sustainable living’ values through the media. Thanks to the good example is possible to limit our impact on the Planet.

Wellness: we currently hold yoga classes and holistic treatments every week, in a calm and beautiful environment. Sometimes we organize yoga retreats and workshop, language courses, etc. for small groups, in collaboration with our network of local teachers and professionals.

Healthy food: local, organic, in part self-produced; the other part is purchased from trusty farmers and in a small percentage from big retailers. Our diet is vegetarian, with limited consumption of animal derived products. We respect all the food choices of our guests, inspiring them through our daily lifestyle.

Innovative agriculture: vegetable and fruit gardens, cultivated without mechanization and chemical pesticides, according to the principles of permaculture and synergistic growing, for our self consumption. From 2018 we have got five hens who provide us fresh eggs every day.

Sense of community: let’s assume that we are all made of small pieces, of fragments. In our society separation reigns and, consequently, dispersion and distraction rule. We aim to bring together strengths, skills and human resources, within our network of friends, students and associates.

Right to food, water, education and health: we completely rely on the statements of the Earth Charter and many local and global NGOs: no child in the world should remain without inalienable rights. It is our commitment, every single day, to do not let it happen.
